Trying to find the best Baby Yoda figure was so hard that we almost had to end a few pucks out into the galaxy and hire a bounty hunter to track one down!
However, we resisted that temptation and today we are going on a journey with you that will take us from the Forest Moon of Endor to the icy caves of Hoth!
Has there been a Star Wars character that has ever made such a huge debut as Grogu? Before the first season of The Mandalorian even aired, all people were talking about was Baby Yoda!
That first wave of Baby Yoda toys merch was insane and people were scalping it like crazy, but thankfully that has all died down now, and finding Grogu action figures is much easier.
Picking The Best Grogu Action Figure!
As we said, there are so many Baby Yoda action figures, it was hard to narrow this list down. Everyone in the Geek’s Oasis office had their favorites so discussions got pretty heated, so much so that a few of us had to take a Baby Yoda-style nap once we were done with discussions.

As you may know from our Star Wars Black Series Luke Skywalker guide, we love The Black Series here at Geek’s Oasis! This Grogu is awesome and taken from the second season of The Mandalorian.
With this, you get his hover pram, a frog, a cup, and a packet of cookies that he stole from that kid in one of the episodes. Well, we assume this adorable alien stole them, but to be fair that kid was a jerk for not sharing, who doesn’t want to share snacks with the galaxy's cutest alien?

Next on our best Baby Yoda figure search is a two-pack from the awesome Bounty collection. With this set, you get two figures from series 3 of The Bounty Collection. One of the Grogu figures has him with a cute blue milk mustache as he is enjoying a drink.
The other has him trying to get to grips with eating a “tasty” bowl of octopus soup. These come individually packaged and this is the last series of The Bounty Collection before the switch to plastic-free packaging.

This set is one of the best in the entire Star Wars Vintage Collection! With this, you get a fantastic Mandalorian figure, a Grogu figure, and a large and two smaller, Kryna Spiders.
This is such a great set that you can pose and display it in many ways. We love how they made this based on an actual episode of The Mandalorian!
One of the things that makes this such a great set is that you get both Mando and Grogu at once so it would be a great place to start a Mandalorian figure collection.

We are heading back to the Star Wars Bounty Collection for our next stop on this Baby Yoda figure train. This is another two-pack from series 3 and this features a hilarious Grogu figure taken from the scene where he was eating that weird frog creature's eggs!
The other figure has him deep in concentration as he is trying to use The Force… or he is just taking a nap, either way, he looks adorable!

Why We At Geek’s Oasis Love It
Ok, we know that this is more aimed at kids, but once you get past the sounds and action features, this incredibly lifelike figure would look amazing on display in your Star Wars collection.
Its 12-inch scale has let them get pretty detailed but at a very fair price. You get a very cool Mandalorian action figure, but the Baby Yoda figure captures your attention.
He can stand on his own or even go in Mando’s little satchel which looks awesome! This action figure is meant for young kids older than three, but he'll be a hit with fans of the series no matter what their age!

- While this is 100 percent a toy and made to be played with, when you stand it on a shelf, it actually looks more like a statue which is neat.
- This kind of mixed media statue features some awesome sound effects and even a few phrases too!

Mando is rocking his Beskar armor and a cloth cape. Ahsoka has an amazing facial sculpt and has a cloth poncho! It comes with some great accessories too such as Ahsoka’s two lightsabers and Mando’s riffle!

Cutesy or screen-accurate?
One of the things that are quite interesting about the various Baby Yoda figures that you can buy is that there really are two categories.
You have those like the ones from the Star Wars Retro Collection or perhaps the Black Series or the Vintage Collection that look more like he does on the show. However, you also have many Grogu action figures where he is done in a cutesier animated kind of style.
If you love the young alien Grogu, perhaps a cutesy one is the way to go, but if you are a Star Wars collector, a more screen-accurate looking will probably fit in your collection better.
What happened to the packaging?
Apart from The Vintage and Retro Collections, all Baby Yoda figures going forward will be made in plastic-free packaging! This means trouble if you are an on-card collector as you can no longer see the figure inside the package.
It also means you have no way of knowing what the paint apps are like on the figure either! Even the more budget-friendly, Bounty Collection has gotten rid of that awesome hover pram-style packaging for a cardboard box!
SIDE NOTE: Apart from not looking good for on-card collectors. Another reason fans are not happy about the plastic-free packaging from Hasbro is that you can no longer see if the figure has any kind of defect! As awesome as Hasbro are, wrong arms, bad paint jobs and flat-out wrong figures in packaging are issues they have been guilty of so it is understandable that many fans are not pleased about this.
