No doubt a few of you are looking at this and wondering, “what is a gradient puzzle?”. Well, it is pretty much exactly what it says it is.
It is a puzzle that is just all about colors, going from one shade to the next, and granted, this may not sound like the most exciting kind of jigsaw puzzle to put together. Especially if you are used to Star Wars puzzles or dinosaur puzzles.
However, if you want a puzzle that is well and truly going to put those puzzle skills of yours to the test more than a game from John Kramer, these are the puzzles that are perfect for you!

Those folks at Ravensburger really are a fiendish lot. This Ravensburger Krypt Gradient is a truly tricky gradient puzzle to put together.
What we love about this puzzle is not just the bright and vibrant colors that it has. The interesting thing about this puzzle is that it has a round piece in the middle, and the rest of the pieces form circles around it. Each piece in this puzzle is a unique shape, so the pieces fit perfectly which makes things a bit easier.
We are actually big fans of Ravensburber and no matter if it is our Lord of the Rings puzzles list or something else, chances are they will show up on it at least once! When you see the name Ravensburger on a puzzle box, you can be certain that those are high-quality puzzles.

You may think that as this Mighty Mojo Impossible Gradient is “only” 500 pieces, it will be rather easy to put together, well think again! This is so hard; it is way more challenging than all of the other 500-piece jigsaw puzzles we have looked at here at Geek’s Oasis!
What makes this so challenging is the color scheme here. The way it goes from blue to yellow in one corner and purple to blue in the other is very eye-catching, but it also means that you will have to really think and have razor-sharp puzzle skills to complete this!

As soon as we saw this Parragon Neon Rainbow Gradient puzzle two things came to mind. The sophisticated side of our brain said that the way this is made up with lots of dots makes it have a kind of Pointillism Art Movement style about it. The hungry and less sophisticated side of our brain said that it made us want a packet of Skittles!
Anyway, made up of 1000 pieces, the way this gradient image is made up with dots, as well as colors, gives this a very different kind of style to it. It looks a bit “funkier” than the other puzzles we have looked at today, but it is still going to be very challenging!

- If you want a gradient puzzle that is a bit more on the “fun” side, this could be just what you are looking for.
FAQs About Gradient Puzzles
Going from one color to the next sure does make these gradient puzzles we looked at today pop. However, we do also have this handy FAQ section to help you out that little bit more!
How many pieces should I go for?
In our humble opinion, the difficulty level of a 500 and 1000-piece gradient puzzle is around the same. What you are looking at more here is the time commitment.
If there are more pieces the puzzle will take longer to put together. It is better to think of it that way instead of which one is going to be harder to put together in terms of how many pieces there are.
Could I frame my gradient puzzle?
Yes, you could and we think that many of these would look like real works of art. Here at Geek’s Oasis, we have looked at puzzle frames before, and there you can see the great variety you can get.
A puzzle like this is going to be fun and challenging to put together, but it is something that could also look really cool on your wall.
What are the age recommendations for gradient puzzles?
There is no definitive answer to this question since it largely depends on the individual and their ability to comprehend the given puzzle. That being said, most gradient puzzles are designed for ages 12 and up due to the complexity of some of the designs.
It's important to remember that these puzzles are not toys and should be treated with care. Many puzzles can be quite intricate and difficult to complete, so it's important that they are not handled roughly or left within reach of small children who may be tempted to play with them.
