If you're anything like us or the dude above, you love a good jigsaw puzzle. The sense of satisfaction you get when you finally piece it all together is unrivaled, especially the larger ones. But have you ever tried to frame one of those pesky things? It's not as quite easy as it looks or one might think!
That's why we've put together this handy step-by-step guide on how to frame a puzzle. Just follow these simple steps and you'll have that puzzle framed in no time.
Preparation
- Gather your materials. You'll need a puzzle, of course, puzzle glue, and a frame. You'll also need some double-sided tape.
- Glue the puzzle using puzzle glue. A few layers of glue will create a stronger hold which we actually recommend to do. If you haven't glued a puzzle before, check out our guide on how to do that!
- Let the puzzle dry properly. Check the glue's instructions to see how long it takes.
- Mount the puzzle onto some paper, for example, wax paper. Make sure to measure your mounting paper before so that it is slightly smaller than your puzzle so that it does not show when framed. Or you can just have a bigger piece of paper and cut the excess paper off when done.
- Flip the puzzle on its back. Apply some glue to the back of your puzzle, and then gently place the mount on top of it. Make sure that the mount is centered before moving on.
- Let the puzzle dry properly once more. Place some items on top of the puzzle so that it'll be totally flat at the end when dried.

Framing
So now when you're done with the gluing part, and you have a nice and sturdy puzzle at hand, it's time to do the actual framing.
We recommend using a frame that's slightly larger than the puzzle, just to be on the safe side. There are some dedicated puzzle frames on the market that are specifically designed for puzzles that you might want to have a look at.
- Use double-sided tape to attach the puzzle to the frame. You might need some extra pairs of hands when lifting the puzzle and centering it into the frame.
- Follow the instructions on the frame to attach the glass etc.
- Hang your masterpiece on the wall!
And that's it! You're now the proud owner of a framed puzzle. Hang it up with pride and show it off to all your friends. They'll be so impressed with your handy work, or maybe not... Well, at least you've got a nice puzzle to look at!
