We are huge Star Wars fans here at Geek’s Oasis and The Force is most certainly with us today as we try to find the best Star Wars Black Series Luke Skywalker action figure!
We looked at the Star Wars Retro Collection recently and had an awesome time doing so. However, as arguably one of the most famous characters in cinema history, Luke was deserving of an article all to himself.
As the main character from The Star Wars saga, it is only fitting that we put on our best Jedi robes and do this thing right!
There Are How Many Black Series Luke Figures???
When Hasbro started The Black Series all those years ago, there were more than a few people who were mad as hell! Why all of a sudden were Star Wars figures going to be on a six-inch scale?
However, over the years more and more people have gotten on board and The Black Series is now the premier Star Wars galaxy action figure line that Hasbro offers. The number of figures Luke has had in The Black series is crazy and there are more coming!
We had a good discussion in The Geek’s Oasis office and we each got to pick a figure that was our favorite and that is how we came up with this list of collectors alike.
Why We At Geek’s Oasis Love It
One of the cool things that Hasbro has done is make figures based on the Star Wars Expanded Universe and that is where this Star Wars Black Series Luke Skywalker figure is from.
This features Luke from the novel, Heir to the Empire, and as well as Luke all decked out in black, you get a Ysalamiri figure which if we are not mistaken is the only way to get this figure.
We also love the packaging it comes in as when we did our Boba Fett action figure guide, there was a similar packaged figure there.

Next up we have a really cool Star Wars Black Series premium Luke Skywalker figure as this was released as part of the 40th-anniversary celebration for The Empire Strikes Back.
This features a dirty and battered Luke Skywalker who has been training with Master Yoda for the biggest battles! This is such a fun figure and we love how the carding looks like the classic 80s Kenner carding only this is for a 6-inch figure so it is much larger!

- If you love the Vintage and Retro Collection, you are going to get a huge kick out of this and probably want to leave it on the card!
Why We At Geek’s Oasis Love It
Next up we have a Luke that is from a classic scene and that is the end of A New Hope. Luke has just gotten his medal and he is all dressed up to impress Princess Leia… to be fair he did not know she was his sister at this point!
Anyway, this is a really neat action figure and one that certainly stands out in a collection. The sculpting on his jacket is actually very impressive!

- This is such a classic look for Luke and it is so unlike any other Star Wars Black Series Luke Skywalker figure that it really would pop in a collection.

As you know from our entertainment-inspired Star Wars Retro Collection guide and from the Dagobah Luke we just looked at, we love it when Hasbro put a figure on retro-looking carding.
This is another Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary-themed figure and this one has Luke in his snowspeeder gear. It's featuring premium deco like the orange paint that really pops and we love how it not only comes with his snowspeeder helmet but also his trusty blue Lightsaber as well.

- If you love modern figures, but also love retro carding, you get the best of both worlds with this figure.
Why We At Geek’s Oasis Love It
We cannot have a list looking for the best Star Wars Black Series Luke Skywalker figure and not feature him in the gear he wore in A New Hope.
From the farm boy on Tatooine to saving Leia on The Death Star, this is one awesome-looking figure with exquisite features.
This is a pretty premium-looking figure too as it comes with a soft goods jacket (or whatever that thing he is wearing is called) and it is very well made. This also comes with his blue Lightsaber and that little training droid that he used to practice.

- If you want Luke like he was for the majority of A New Hope, this is the perfect figure to add to your collection.
Why We At Geek’s Oasis Love It
We are sticking with A New Hope for our next Star Wars Black Series Luke Skywalker figure and it is a really fun one.
Based on the scene where Luke and Han have to dress up as Stormtroopers to save Princess Leia (where she rudely says he is too short to be a Stormtrooper) this awesome figure comes with multiple points, a helmet, a communicator, and a blaster too!
This is a lot of fun and great if you want a Luke Skywalker that is a bit different.

- We love how the Stormtrooper armor and helmet that Luke has are battle-damaged, it really makes it stand out from a regular Stormtrooper action figure armor.
Why We At Geek’s Oasis Love It
Jedi Master (or if you prefer, Old Man Luke) Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi was certainly a character that many Star Wars fans were divided on in regards to his portrayal, but there was no denying he looked cool.
With this figure, he is captured really well and we love the face scan that Hasbro has done here to bring the figure to life as it looks just like Mark Hamill. We also love the soft goods Jedi Robes that he is wearing as well.

- This is easily the best Jedi Master figure that Hasbro has made!
Why We At Geek’s Oasis Love It
The Archive Series is bringing back some previously released Black Series figures but with a few finer details.
We love this one here as it is Luke in his Hoth gear that probably saved him from completely freezing when he was stranded and lost on Hoth and needed to be saved by Han Solo.
This is a really cool figure and the snow gear that Luke is wearing is featuring premium detail, and he even comes with his trust blue Lightsaber.

How many Luke Skywalker figures do I need?
This is a tough one to answer as he has had so many different looks through all the movies he has been in. To start with, a Star Wars collection 100 percent needs at least one Luke Skywalker action figure in it, he is what is classed as an anchor character.
However, while some might be ok with just one representation of Luke. We feel that you need one for each of the movies he has been in!
How to display my Luke Skywalker figure?
To be fair to Hasbro, most of their Star Wars products including each and every Star Wars Black Series Luke Skywalker figure we have looked at today stand up pretty well on their own.
However, you can get a cheap pack of plastic display stands that will make it much harder for your figures to fall down.
You can also get this epic Star Wars The Black Series 40th Anniversary Legacy Pack that is based on The classic Early Bird Certificate Package as it comes with a stand and also an exclusive Darth Vader action figure.
Side note: Back in 1977 when Kenner realized that their first wave of Star Wars action figures would not be ready for Christmas. They created The Early Bird Certificate Package which was a special pack that came with a special gift certificate that would get people Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and R2-D2. It also doubled as a cool stand and backing piece for the figures.
