With the Super Mario Bros Movie breaking all kinds of records and being a ton of fun, we thought that there was no better time than now to look for the best Super Mario Action figure!
We are huge gamers here at Geek’s Oasis, we recently looked at the best Cuphead Funko Pop figures and had a blast doing so! However, Mario is arguably the biggest gaming icon of all time, and today we are looking at the best Mario action figures around.
Using Power-Ups To Make This List!
The craziest thing happened. We just decided to try and find out what the best Super Mario action figure was then as we were in the break room, a huge green pipe appeared and sucked us in and we ended up in the Mushroom Kingdom!
Now, you may think that this was a disaster, but we met this friendly fellow called Toad and he said he would help us find the best Mario action figures. By the way, we say “Mario” but we are not exclusively looking at figures of Mario himself, but other characters related to his world.
We have gone for a real mix here, figures based on the recent movie, the 2.5-inch scale figures, and the 4-inch plus scale too.

We had to start this Super Mario action figure guide with one of the Mario action figures based on the new Super Mario Bros. Movie that has just come out. This is such a fun take on the character that we all know and love and while this is a standard figure, we think that Jakks actually did a great job with the sculpting on his iconic dungarees!
This Mario comes with a plunger and can be posed in many ways. We do also love the box of this one so it looks great if you are an in-package collector too.

Why We At Geek’s Oasis Love It
If you are doing a list of the best Super Mario action figures, Luigi has to be on that list and as we just looked at the Mario from the movie, we felt his brother Luigi had to be next.
They have captured Luigi perfectly here and we love how they gave him a flashlight as an accessory as this is something he has at the start of the movie! Just like the Super Mario action figure we just looked at, Luigi comes in a great box so he looks just as good in the package as he does posed out of it.

If you checked out our Star Wars Vintage Collection Vehicles guide, you know we love vehicles, playsets, and action figures and this awesome item mixes all three. We just love the retro design of this plumber van and how it has an 80s Super Mario Bros look to it.
While displaying the van as a van is cool, if you open it up, it is a playset that has different locations from the movie and a little 1.25-inch Super Mario action figure too! It is such a fun item, one that is cool for display and play!

Next up we have one of the coolest playsets in the entire Mario action figure line, Peach’s Castle. Looking kind of like it does in Mario 64, this makes for such an epic display piece.
It comes with a series of Super Mario action figures which include, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, and a Goomba. There are also various accessories like power blocks and a flagpole. This is such a fun set and a great piece to have if you want to collect the 2.5-inch Mario action figures from Jakks!

That is right, we have another playset from the 2.5-inch line. Seriously, these playsets that Jakks have done are awesome and we hope that they make a ton more of them.
This is one of the newer (as of writing) playsets and features an underwater level that has many cool action features such as a clam that opens and an urchin that moves up and down. It even comes with a Super Mario action figure that you can use to display and make this seem like a scene from one of the games.

We might as well make it a hat trick of playsets for the Super Mario action figures 2.5-inch line! Who likes the Mario series, but does not love Toad? No one that is who!
This is one of the most fun playsets in this line as it looks great from the front, especially if you have the included Toad action figure standing in the doorway.
However, if you display it from the back, you have a scene from the actual video games as it is like Toad is giving you a power-up which makes this even more fun!

Next up we are looking at our first offering from Jakks 4-inch Super Mario line, this epic two-pack that features a classic-looking Super Mario action figure and one of the Koopalings, Iggy Koopa.
These two packs are a great way to build or even start a collection as they are priced very collector friendly. With this you get one of the more posable Super Mario action figures and the Iggy is also awesome as he is not only compatible, he also has his wand just like in Super Mario Bros 3!

We have another awesome two-pack from Jakks 4-inch Mario action figures line as we have Fire Luigi going up against the very naughty, but super adorable Bowser Jr!
What we love about this is that we are not getting just a standard Luigi action figure. He has found himself a fire flower which is included as an accessory and that is going to help him deal with Bowser Jr!
Bowser Jr comes with his magic paintbrush that he caused all kinds of chaos within Super Mario Sunshine!

Why We At Geek’s Oasis Love It
What better way to end our look at the best Mario action figures than by looking at Mario’s original foe, turned friend Donkey Kong? This is one of the best Nintendo action figures that Jakks has produced so far.
This is based on his look from the Donkey Kong Country Returns games and they have captured him perfectly. His big goofy grin, those massive hands, and that very stylish tie!
This is the Donkey Kong that kids all know and love. We also love the incredible packaging that he is in, making it very tempting to keep him in the package!

Who makes Mario Action Figures?
As we write this, Jakks Pacific has the license to make figures based on the world of Super Mario. These guys also have the license for Sonic the Hedgehog.
Anyway, if you see a Super Mario action figure, chances are it is Jakks Pacific that has made it. To be honest, they have done a fantastic job with the license so far.
Why are there so many Super Mario figures?
We would wager that every single wave of Jakks Pacific Super Mario action figures has a Mario in it! To be fair, that is to be expected, but Jakks has done a great job of mixing things up. Most of his power-ups have been represented and they also change up his pose a bit as well.
The good news about this is that it makes getting a Super Mario action figure much easier and also more affordable. If you just want a basic Mario, just go for the cheapest one as they are all pretty much the same!
Before You Jump On That Goomba, We Want To Tell You Something!
We love to talk about Mario, heck we even snuck a Mario puzzle in our Christmas puzzle guide! As you can see, when it comes to finding the best Super Mario action figure, that is actually pretty easy. The real fun here is building a collection of characters to go with Mario.
We only were able to feature a handful today, but the likes of Yoshi, Daisy, Wario, the other Koopalings and more can all be had and they make for such a wonderful and fun collection.
The best thing is these action figures in comparison to other modern action figures, like some of the awesome but expensive Spider-Man villain action figures for example, are actually not all that expensive.
