You may think that world map jigsaw puzzles are reserved for kids and contain like 20 pieces and a big cartoon kangaroo saying “g’day mate” where Australia is. Ok, that would be pretty awesome.

However, when it comes to more challenging puzzles for adults, there is a great selection of puzzles designed to look like a world map. There are actually so many it can be hard to know what the right one for you is, you may be a world traveler like the iconic 80's hero Willy Fog and still have trouble finding that perfect jigsaw puzzle for you!

Willy Fog was the title character from an 80's animated adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic, Around the World in 80 Days. Willy Fog was actually a talking lion, yeah, this show was weird, but it is a bit of an underrated 80's classic!

These types of jigsaw puzzles are fun as they not only give you a real mental test, but your fine motor skills are getting a good workout too and you will also learn a little about this spinning rock we call Earth too!

Did We Travel All Around The World To Come Up With This List?

Nope, sadly the most traveling we did to make this list of the best world map puzzles was when someone in the Geek’s Oasis office would head down the street to make a snack run!

We did though look at some of the most popular puzzles based on classic maps to make this list. We also have a couple of more “out there” picks too which are fun and geeky!

We've been working hard to find the coolest products for you that will make your life easier and more fun. Each product has been independently selected by our editors. Geek's Oasis may collect a share of sales from the links on this page if you decide to buy something - that's how we stay in business. Clicking the links will not add any cost to you. FAQs About World Map Puzzles

Put down your atlas, here you will find the answers to the common questions you may have about world map puzzles!

What Size Of Puzzle Should I Get?

Out of all the styles of puzzles we have looked at here at Geek’s Oasis, world map puzzles could be the easiest to accidentally buy a kid's puzzle that is going to be way too easy.

There are some kids' puzzles based on the world that look awesome, but when they are coming in at under 100 pieces, the challenge factor is not there!

Make sure you check how many pieces the puzzle is before you hit that "buy it" button so you know if it is the appropriate challenge for you.

What If I Have To Go Around The World In 80 Days?

Ok, so we know this is unlikely, however, chances are you may not be able to complete your puzzle in one sitting. You could if your home permits, leave it out on the table and get back to it when you can.

If that is not possible for you, consider getting a puzzle roll-up mat that allows you to safely roll up your puzzle so that you can continue it at a later date.

Some World Map Puzzles Advice From Non World Travelers!

A few folks in the Geek’s Oasis office have actually gone pretty darn far, but all joking aside we just wanted to give you some parting advice about buying and putting together world map puzzles.

At the end of the day, puzzles should be fun so the best thing we can suggest to you is to find the one that you feel looks like the most fun to put together and pick that one!

Also, these types of puzzles look amazing when framed so perhaps think about doing that also and it may even spur you on a bit more to get it completed!
